With a $200 stamp as a maximum, all docu-
ments except some cases of probate, would be easily stamped.
In cases of duty over say $1000, the ordinary dies might be
used without adhesive stamps, the fact that the duty is paid
being certified to by the Collector on the document.
It is suggested that a copy of this men-
orandum should be sent home and that Messrs.De La Rue & Co,
as experts,be asked to submit estimates of the most economi-
cal way compatible with the safe guarding of the revenue of
scribed (a) Supplying 4 new values viz,$2,$3,35, and $10 insessed
*HongKong" a and the value.
(b) Supplying 11 new values as above inscribed "HongKong
Stamp Duty' and the value.
(e) Supplying 2 double dated shanks or Plugs as A in C.O.D.
